about

"Local Bar Opry Star turned out to be my theme song. It was the song that people started remembering me for. When I wrote the song, it was a challenge to write a good/fun song about a singer that longed to be a Grand Ole Opry star - and this is what came out. I wrote it in about 10 minutes." -Zachariah

lyrics

[Verse 1]
Well, I wondered if you've been here long or if you just sat down
And I wonder if they filled you in on the talk of this town
You may not know the truth about me if you've come from afar
But I'm this local bar's Grand Ole Opry star

[Verse 2]
I sing a song of sadness for the love that got away
And I sing a song of romance on a couple's special day
Most are too intoxicated to say that I ain't up to par
'Cause I'm this local bar's Grand Ole Opry star

[Instrumental break]

[Verse 3]
Well, the bottles start a-swaying every quarter time you know
I drink and a good song will help when you're feeling low
I'm the server of the grandest country music caviar
'Cause I'm this local bar's Grand Ole Opry star

[Verse 4]
I'm here in the low places with the rest of all your friends
And I croon another drink and song like "Pop a Top" again
This smoky room's a fortress, a hillbilly alcazar
'Cause I'm this local bar's Grand Ole Opry star

[Outro]
Yes, I'm this local bar's
Grand Ole Opry star
